- There are so many features that I like about this study guide book but I'd like to begin with what I see as the most valuable element. At the beginning of the study guide, Barron's outlines 5 essential points that you should focus on. One of these essential elements is the need to "understand historiography" which means the study of how historians think and write about history. This is essential to getting a good score on this test and so they have created DBQ sections throughout the guide (document-based questions) to help you think like a historian. They also provide test strategies, practice tests (5 total full length tests (online and in the book)) and they even provide several study timelines depending on what time frame you are working with including 4-week, school year (9 month) and even 7 day! There are 6 units in the book, each covering one of the major historical periods covered in the AP exam. Overall, this is an excellent resource for helping you to prep for your AP World History test! Highly recommended!
